This is my middle son Max.
My champion son.
He loved sports and was passionate about boxing. He had a sensitive caring heart and loved his family and friends deeply. He battled with severe anxiety and childhood trauma. Which caused him to become off track in life for a few years. He began using Xanax to cope with the anxiety and intense emotions.
He reached out for psychiatric help and began talking to a therapist but our mental health system very flawed and Max fell through the cracks. Days before his death he was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. He was trying to get his life back on track and began college majoring in Kiniseology.
Max wanted to be a coach, teaching kids sports and especially boxing. One day Max fell and busted his elbow. He had an X-ray but no damage showed on the X-ray. A longtime friend told him he knew a guy that sold pain killers. So Max purchased what he told was Percocet but they were actually counterfeit pills containing Fentanyl.
On the night of July 1,2021 everyone went to bed for the night. The morning of July 2, 2021 was just like any other morning. As the day went on I thought my son was sleeping in late which he sometimes did. I became concerned about him thinking maybe he wasn't feeling well. So I went into his room to check on him and he was laying back on his bed. I knew as soon as I seen him he was gone and had been gone. He was so cold. I don't remember much after that because I lost my mind. Losing Max devastated us.
There was no conviction in Max's death. The detective told us there was not enough evidence to convict the guy in a court of law and Max's case was closed. We are left heartbroken with no justice.
All we have left are memories and the hope that we will see Max again in Heaven.
