Membership & account
Open Membership → Register, complete the registration form, and submit it. You will receive an email with an activation link. Click that link to activate your account, then sign in.
After you have registered and activated your account, go to Membership → Login (or use MEMBERSHIP in the main menu) and sign in with your credentials.
The site is integrated with the store and other member features. Saving your address can simplify checkout and shipping so you do not have to re-enter it for every order.
Phone numbers support future services such as shipping notifications, comments on your angel submission, and two-factor authentication to help protect your account.
Premium and Premium+ are optional paid membership tiers with additional benefits. They are separate from free membership and from the HALOS recognition system. You may be a free member who earns HALOS, a Premium member, or both—one does not replace the other. Details and upgrades are available through the store when membership products are listed.
Memorial wall & angels
First register for a membership. Activate your account using the link in your email, then log in. In your profile dashboard, open Submit an Angel, complete every required field on the form, and submit. Your submission will enter the approval queue.
If the form is complete and there are no issues with the information provided, review can take up to 72 hours; it is often faster.
Common causes of delay include special characters in form fields (such as quotes or embedded HTML), an image with text written across it, or an image with a decorative frame. Other issues can arise, but those are among the most frequent.
Depending on status and site tools available to members, you may be able to update certain details from your account. If something needs correction after approval, contact the team (see Privacy & support below) with the angel’s name and the change required.
HALOS
HALOS are APALD’s member recognition points. They are not money, gift cards, or cryptocurrency. They live on your member account and mark participation—such as signing in, honoring angels, and supporting the community. A full overview is on the HALOS page.
No. Many HALOS come from participation, such as signing in and engaging respectfully on memorials. Store packs are optional if you want a larger balance—for example, to donate more often to angels.
Members may earn HALOS by signing in on a limited schedule, by leaving thoughtful comments on other families’ angel pages, and by purchasing HALO packs (or products that include HALOS) in the store. Credits from purchases apply only after payment succeeds. Exact amounts and limits may change so the system stays fair.
After payment succeeds. HALOS are credited when the order is confirmed, so your balance reflects completed transactions rather than items left in a cart.
No. HALOS are tied to member accounts. Create a free membership and sign in so activity and purchases credit the correct balance.
No. Financial donations and store purchases support APALD’s operations and programs. HALO donations on an angel page are a community recognition signal—a way members show that they remember and stand with that memorial. They are not a cash transfer to the family.
The spirit of the program is to honor others. Comment rewards typically exclude self-comments on your own submissions. Prefer giving HALOS to angels submitted by other families so the gesture remains outward-facing.
There is no separate expiration program on top of normal account rules. Your spendable balance changes when you earn, buy, donate, or (when available) redeem. If a formal expiration policy is ever introduced, it will be announced clearly to members first.
No. HALOS have no cash value outside APALD and cannot be withdrawn. They are used only through features the site provides.
On that angel’s memorial page. Totals reflect HALOS the community has given to that memorial through the site’s donate tools.
Checkout redemption is planned. When it launches, HALOS are expected to apply only to eligible one-time purchases, with limits such as a percentage cap, no use on subscriptions, and no stacking with promotion codes on the same order. Until then, HALOS are used primarily to support angels on the memorial wall. See the HALOS page for current status.
Sign out and back in, then check again after any recent store purchase has fully completed. If the total still looks incorrect, contact APALD with your member email and the approximate time of the activity so the team can review account records.
Store & orders
You may browse the store without signing in. Some products—such as HALO packs and membership upgrades—require a signed-in member account because they attach to your profile. Physical and other one-time items may be available depending on current store settings.
Signed-in members can view order history from their profile when that section is enabled on your account. You should also receive an email receipt after a successful purchase. If you cannot locate an order, contact the webmaster with the email used at checkout and the approximate purchase date.
Digital items and memberships are fulfilled when payment succeeds. Physical products are prepared according to inventory and fulfillment capacity; shipping timelines can vary. Watch your email for order and shipping notices.
Events & involvement
Open EVENTS in the main navigation. There you will find information about events being held around the country. Event listings may also appear under articles in the events category as that section continues to develop.
