Joey was an amazing son, grandson, brother, father, and friend. Those who knew him knew that regardless of what struggles he had going on he would always be there to help others. Joey began using recreational drugs at a young age to help him handle what was going on in his head while struggling with mental health issues after a doctor told him since he was over 14 he could make his own decisions concerning his mental health treatment leading him to stop prescribed mental health medications. Overtime he started using harder stronger things, becoming addicted. This addiction lead to many years in treatment and jail, which at the time was horrible but I believe that kept him with us as long as he was. Joey loved life and lived life to the fullest. Joey passed from methamphetamine laced with Fentanyl which I know he would never have intentionally used. The person who sold this to him is still out there living their life while all that knew him and love him were given a lifetime sentence of pain and grief from losing a wonderful, caring, amazing person.
