Rain was born on October 2nd, 2003. She was beautiful, funny, smart, and incredibly kind. Her heart was the purest most loving one I’ve ever known. She gave love to everyone she ever met. She also had a huge heart for animals. Any stray she found, she’d rescue and bring home. When she turned 18 she bought a sheepadoodle and named her Mars. That dog was her everything. Rain was a freshman in college majoring in early childhood education.
On May 26th, 2023 I talked to Rain on the phone, and she told me she loved and missed me. She told me she had to go because she needed to finish a homework assignment. She sounded down, but I told her I was so proud of her and we would talk tomorrow. That was around 11pm that night. The next morning I received a call that Rain was found dead in her bed with her dog beside her and her schoolwork open on her computer. She passed away on May 27th 2023. I later found out that she got what she “thought” was a Xanax from someone and took it before she went to sleep. The medical examiner said it was one pill that contained mostly fentanyl and very little Xanax. That one pill destroyed my whole world. It took away my best friend, it took away a big sister, and it took away the kindest soul I ever met. The police are still investigating her death. I don’t know where she got the fake Xanax from, but whoever gave it to her destroyed my life.
