What is APALD?

The Association of People Against Lethal Drug (APALD) is a grassroots 501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on addressing the synthetic drug epidemic, particularly the dangers posed by substances like fentanyl and carfentanil. Founded to support families affected by drug-induced deaths, APALD works tirelessly to change perceptions, labeling these tragedies as poisonings rather than overdoses, and pushes for accountability in drug trafficking.[2]

What Are They Trying to Do?

APALD's mission is to empower and engage the public in raising awareness, driving legislative changes, and collaborating to end the synthetic drug crisis. Their key objectives include:

  • Providing support to families grieving losses from drug-induced homicides and related deaths.

  • Advocating for laws that hold drug dealers accountable for deaths caused by illicit drugs.

  • Raising public awareness about the alarming number of poisonings from synthetics like fentanyl.

  • Educating communities to reduce stigma and improve understanding of addiction.

Through rallies, community education, and national campaigns, APALD brings attention to the issue, hosting events across the U.S. to foster change and support affected individuals.[1] [3]
